About the Logo

WCDenver logoThe logo was designed by Zack Katz, and represents the street grid of Denver near downtown Denver’s Civic Center.

The “W” has the shape of the Wells Fargo Center, known locally as the “cash register building.”

The lines in the “DEN” represent Denver’s unique street grid, a result of the merging of the historic city of Auraria and Denver. Auraria had a street grid aligned perpendicular to Cherry Creek, while Denver’s grid was aligned in the more traditional east–west/north–south orientation. Learn more about Denver’s interesting street grid on Wikipedia.
